Outside the engineering world my interests are many and varied. I like to lead an active lifestyle which covers a range of sports which depend on the time of year and Vancouver’s unpredictable weather! In the winter I am an avid snowboarder and can often be found on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb. Year-round I run and swim. I have run both the Vancouver and Seattle marathons and a numbers half marathons. I am an endurance and open water swimmer, having competed in the Bay Challenge twice- a 10km open-water race across Vancouver’s English Bay. In the summer I like to play in the local beach volleyball league and down-hill mountain bike the slopes I snowboard over in the winter!. Recently I have also found enjoyment in designing and building fixed-gear and single speed bikes.
Beyond sport I am an avid traveller and photographer. Ideally I like to combine the two, and top it all off with the last of my passions: good food and wine., while my intellectual interests revolve around current affairs and international relations.
